In ihrer mehr als 30-jährigen Geschichte hat sich die Fakuma - Internationale Fachmesse für Kunststoffverarbeitung – zu einem herausragenden Branchentreffpunkt entwickelt. Im Gesamt-Ranking der internationalen Kunststoff-Messen belegt sie den zweiten Platz. Durch ihren Veranstaltungsrhythmus ist sie jedoch in den Fakuma-Jahren das wichtigste Branchenevent.

Die Messe bietet einen umfassenden Überblick über sämtliche Kunststofftechnologien: Ob Spritzgießen, Extrusionstechnik oder Thermoformen: Der Anwender kann sich hier über alle für die Kunststoffbe- und -verarbeitung relevanten Verfahren, Maschinen und Werkzeuge gezielt informieren. Dabei steht die Praxis im Vordergrund, wenn rund 1.700 Aussteller die ganze Prozesskette zur wirtschaftlichen Teilefertigung aus Kunststoffen präsentieren. Einen wichtigen Part spielen dabei Automatisierungseinrichtungen, denn die Kunststoff-Fertigung wird immer mehr in Herstellungsprozesse integriert. Im Verbund mit Handling- und Montage-Systemen entstehen flexible Produktionssysteme für die aktuellen und künftigen Herausforderungen der globalisierten Wirtschaftswelt. Dass den zukunftsweisenden Themen der Branche wie Ressourcenschonung, Leichtbau, Energie-Effizienz oder Kunststoffe in der Medizintechnik eine besondere Aufmerksamkeit zukommt, hat auf der Fakuma Tradition.

In its over 30-year history, the Fakuma international trade fair for plastics processing has become a prominent meeting place for the industry. It holds second place in the overall ranking of international trade fairs for plastics. However, because of the organisation cycle, it is the principal event for the industry in Fakuma years.

The fair offers a comprehensive overview of all plastics technologies; whether injection moulding, extrusion technology or thermoforming: the user can find out specifically about all processes machines and tools that are relevant for the working and processing of plastics. The focus here is on practice, as around 1,700 exhibitors present the entire process chain for the economic production of plastic components. Automation equipment plays an important part here, as plastic production is increasingly being integrated into production processes. Together with handling and assembly systems, flexible production systems are created for the current and future challenges of the globalised economic world. The fact that forward-looking issues of the industry – such as the conservation of resources, lightweight construction, energy efficiency and plastics in medical engineering – are afforded special attention is a tradition at Fakuma.

Thermoplastische Elastomere (TPE-S) mit einer Reihe von unterschiedlichen mechanischen und physikalischen Eigenschaften auf Basis von SBS (Styrol-Butadien-Styrol) und SEBS (Styrol-Ethylen-Butadien-Styrol). Durch den Compoundierprozess ist es möglich, unterschiedliche Eigenschaftsprofile individuell einzustellen und zu kombinieren.

Thermoplastische Olefine (TPE-O) mit definierten Barriere-Eigenschaften und präzise untersuchtem Migrationsverhalten auf Basis von EVA (Ethylenvinylacetat), PP (Polypropylen) und PE (Polyethylen).

Thermoplastische Vulkanisate (TPE-V), quervernetzt, aber dennoch thermisch zu verarbeiten, bieten diese Werkstoffe hohe UV- und Witterungsbeständigkeit, sehr niedrige Druckverformungsreste, sehr gute Ölbeständigkeit und Flexibilität über einen großen Temperaturbereich. Sie werden überall dort eingesetzt, wo hohe Anforderungen an Festigkeit und Widerstandsfähigkeit gestellt werden.

Thermoplastic Elastomers (TPE-S) with a range of different mechanical and physical properties based on SBS (styrol-butadiene-styrol) and SEBS (styrol-ethylene-butadiene-styrol). The compounding process enables the adjusting and combining of a wide range of characteristic profiles.

Thermoplastic Olefins (TPE-O) featuring defined barrier properties and well researched migration performance. Our Thermoplastic Olefins are based on EVA (ethylenevinylacetat), PP (polypropylene) and PE (polyethylene).

Thermoplastic Vulcanisates (TPE-V), cross-linked but still processable in extrusion or molding, our Thermoplastic Vulcanisates offer high UV- and weathering resistance, very low compression set, excellent oil-resistance and flexibility over a wide temperature range. Thus they show their advantages in applications demanding high mechanical strength and resistance to a wide range of influences.

Sicherheit für Ihre Medizinprodukte

Safety first for medical products

Vor der Marktzulassung von Medizinprodukten (CE-Zertifizierung) muss die biologische Verträglichkeit nach EN ISO 10993ff sichergestellt sein. Das Ziel der biologischen Beurteilung besteht darin, die Verträglichkeit der eingesetzten Materialien mit dem Körper zu bewerten.

Auf dem Prüfstand stehen dabei nicht nur das fertige Produkt, sondern auch alle Ausgangsstoffe, die einzeln oder als Gemisch zur Fertigung von Medizinprodukten eingesetzt werden, sowie Produktionsbedingungen, Hilfsstoffe, Prozesszusatzstoffe, Rückstände aus der Herstellung oder Reaktionsprodukte. Die Normenreihe EN ISO 10993 ist nicht nur für die Zulassung implantierbarer Medizinprodukte wie Stents oder Herzklappen verbindlich, sondern für alle Medizinprodukte. Dazu gehören beispielsweise Katheter, Bandagen oder Manschetten von Blutdruckmessgeräten.

Before medical devices receive marketing authorization (CE-certification) their biological tolerability, as defined by EN ISO 10933ff, has to be established. The aim of the biological evaluation is to find out how well the materials used in the product are tolerated by the human body.

Not only the final product but all the materials used in the production process, whether individually or as a mixture, are subjected to testing. So too are the production conditions, auxiliary materials, process additives, residues from manufacture and reaction products. Adherence to the EN ISO 10993 series of standards is obligatory not only for the authorization of medical devices for implantation, such as stents or heart valves, but for all medical devices. These include items such as catheters, supports and cuffs for measuring blood pressure.

Seit fünfzehn Jahren wird die TPE-Konferenz jährlich als ein Top-Event der Branche veranstaltet. Dieses Jahr findet sie am 13. und 14. November in Berlin statt. The annual TPE Conference has been staged as a top event in the sector for the past fifteen years. WIP Forum on Plastics in Medical Technology

Der Erfahrungsaustausch, Wissenszuwachs, gemeinsame Produktentwicklung und Problemlösung, sowie die effiziente Partner- und Expertensuche stehen beim WIP im Mittelpunkt der Arbeit.
